Jet Set Smiles
At Jet Set Smiles, we recommend following the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics, which both recommend that a child’s first visit to the dentist be scheduled before their first birthday. It is important to establish good dental habits at an early age as well as identify any possible dental issues that may come up later as your child grows.
Before Your First
Visit to Jet Set Smiles
The dentist can be a scary place! Before your child’s first visit to the dentist, we encourage that you talk to them about the dentist in a positive way and make sure that you stay as calm and upbeat as possible – if you have anxiety or fears about the dentist, your child may pick up on that.
At Jet Set Smiles, we make sure to talk to kids using age-appropriate language and try to make the entire experience as positive and comfortable as possible. We work with each child as if they were our own kids and understand that there may be some fear associated with the dentist.
Your First Visit
to Jet Set Smiles
We want to make your first visit with us as comfortable and informative as possible, so be sure to ask any questions you may have! We will review proper tooth brushing techniques and tips, diet, and any other information that is useful for you and your child at this stage in their life. Dr. Patel and the Jet Set team will recommend a cleaning and fluoride treatment when your child is ready for and needs it. Dental x-rays are taken only when necessary – every treatment decision is made with your child in mind!
